Disaster Risk Training for East Java Government

Through the John Grill Institute for Project Leadership, our lab members Dr Aaron Opdyke and Grace Muir, hosted a 3-day training for 20 representatives from the East Java provincial government in Indonesia. The programme included 2 days of classroom sessions with speakers on gender and inclusion, policy design, disaster risk reduction theory, project monitoring and evaluation, and an interactive simulation in which participants played Uncertain Waters – a serious game previously developed by our lab. The programme also included from and to the New South Wales Reconstruction Authority and State Emergency Services.
