Arvin Hadlos and Isaac Besarra have been awarded 1st and 3rd place, respectively, in the 2023 Humanitarian Pitch organised by the Warren Centre. Arvin’s winning pitch delved into his research focusing on multi-hazard housing reconstruction in Batanes, Philippines, offering insights crucial for disaster-resilient communities. Meanwhile, Isaac’s pitch centred on assessing flood risk for residential buildings in Leyte, Philippines, providing valuable perspectives for mitigating the impacts of climate change. Both received $1,000 cash prizes and Arvin was supported to attend the annual Pacific Telecommunication Council‘s Conference in Hawaii in January 2024. Check out their winning submissions below.
