Philippines ambassador to Australia with Sydney Southeast Asia Centre staff

The Sydney Southeast Asia Centre (SSEAC) welcomed the Philippine Ambassador to Australia, Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, onto campus today to discuss how our research and education partnerships are creating new opportunities for Filipinos – including our lab’s work in disaster risk reduction and management. Dr Aaron Opdyke, the SSEAC’s new Philippines Country Coordinator, along with other representatives, greeted the Ambassador and Consular General Maria Teresa L. Taguiang.

As part of his new role as the Philippines Country Coordinator, Opdyke will lead SSEAC’s efforts in connecting researchers in the Centre working in the Philippines.
